Headhunters
come into the light for the first time at IBC
Wenham Carter, a leading global provider of executive recruitment services
to the broadcasting and telecoms Industry is to be a major VIP sponsor and
exhibitor at IBC for the first time in 2010.
While on the surface IBC is rightly dominated by the latest development
in media technology, it is the people behind these innovations that really
count and who make our diverse media environment possible. One of the untold
stories is the quiet war that has been raging for years as technology leaders
and innovative service providers struggle to attract and retain the very
best talent in a competitive market.
Wenham Carter has for many years worked closely with the corporate boards
and senior management of the most ambitious and successful technology and
service companies in our industry to assist them in recruiting and retaining
the best staff. This critical business activity is often carried out discreetly
and behind the scenes,
This year for the first time Wenham Carter is shining a light on the often
covert domain of the recruitment specialist, and is exhibiting at IBC 2010,
one of the most well attended events in the global broadcasting industry.
The aim is to lift the lid on the important role we play and provide advice
to leading industry executives who are either seeking to build high performing
teams or searching for a new career opportunity.
Commenting on the decision to highlight its activities to a wider global
audience in the industry, Ben Fielder, Wenham Carter Managing Director said,
"The need to find exceptionally talented people has always been central
to the success of any innovative business or venture. The broadcasting and
telecoms industries are no exception. Weve made a strategic decision
to become more visible to the wider industry this year and reach out to
a wider audience in developed and emerging markets."

ARRIS Touchstone Telephony Gateway TG852G awarded DOCSIS
3.0 certification
Arris has announced that its Touchstone Telephony Gateway TG852G has been
awarded DOCSIS 3.0 certification in CableLabs Wave #76.
The TG852G hardware is the newest generation ARRIS DOCSIS 3.0-certified
wireless gateway with support for up to 8 bonded downstream channels and
up to 4 bonded upstream channels -- which can deliver in excess of 320 Mbp/s
and 120 Mbp/s, respectively. The TG852 combines 2 voice ports, a 4-port
Gigabyte Router and an 802.11n wireless access point into a single device
capable of supporting both home and small office applications. Using multiprocessor
technology, the TG852 achieves this high bandwidth performance without affecting
voice quality, a historical ARRIS product standard.
DOCSIS 3.0 certification is a key step in bringing to market an IP
Gateway EMTA that meets the stringent requirements of service providers.
said ARRIS Broadband Communications Systems SVP Derek Elder. Reliability
and WiFi performance are key to MSOs managing their operating expenses as
they launch these new advanced services. The TG852G is built to meet these
needs with a high power WiFi subsystem, internal antennas and power supplies
and the reliability that is expected from ARRIS products.
